Bolton 0-2 Arsenal

January 17th, 2010

Bolton:-
Arsenal:Fabregas 28, Merida 78

Fabregas again was put straight to work and worked out the first goal. Then came another Spaniard,Merida to solidify our lead and Arsenal won 2-0 in the end.

It wasn’t a pretty win but it’s a victory anyway. At least we got our three points.Another victory against Bolton this weekday will see us top the table although it’s Chelsea’s turn to have a game in hand.

I’m really quite tired now and I will update more later on……

Arsenal 2-2 Everton

January 10th, 2010

Gunners was lucky to rescue a point against resilient Everton.

To be honest,I didn’t watch the match.I was in my sister’s home and there’s no TV.I could only watch live score.I was shocked to see Gunners trail by a goal, and after Everton popped in the second,I went crazy.

That’s not too bad, considering M.United too dropped points against Birmingham in extreme winter season.

From Arsenal.com’s match report,we were quite flat and Everton actually should had won the game. Our attack was simply frozen in the cold -3°C temperature.

I could not elaborate more;I didn’t watch the match.

West Ham 1-2 Arsenal,Arsenal plays Stoke away

January 3rd, 2010

We came from behind to make it 2-1 for us.It was unlike our first visit when we screwed up our 2-0 lead and drew 2-2.

I only watched the first-half and obviously disheartened.Obviously our players’ lack of experience brought them nervousness and hence mistakes. Our attack was poor(or Hammers defended well); We couldn’t really cross a proper ball to penalty box and could not make a on-target shots.

However it was the defending mistake which brought Hammers’ first goal.Kovac’s pass to Diamanti was a deadly one;Diamanti stormed into penalty box without proper mark from our lads and next thing was West Ham grabbed 1-0 lead just before first-half.

I can’t really comment on second-half as I sleep early yesterday. But today I woke up and found that Arsenal won 2-1.That’s good.No replays, and the best of all we progressed into fourth round.

I found out from Arsenal.com that Arsenal drew Stoke City for an away game. That’s not bad too although it’s not the best draw we ever hoped.Playing a BPL team away team is not a easy task as we can see from West Ham game.

Portsmouth 1-4 Arsenal

December 31st, 2009

Portsmouth:Belhadj 73
Arsenal:Eduardo 27 ,Nasri 41 Ramsey 68 Song 81

Gunners kept their pressure on title rivals with another three points,as well as added three goal difference.

Although the scoreline looked demolishing, but Gunners worked hard to get their three points. The rest is bonus. We did better in our finishing hence we took our chances better.

I have better say about this game by commenting on Wenger’s quote.

“Tonight we showed a physical response in the first half when they made it very physical. In midfield we were really up for it and dominated physically.

I didn’t see any physical play from Pompey actually, and judging from the amount of red card given,Pompey didn’t go physical with us.

“Ramsey was very good.”

He’s not just good;he’s superb in his third goal. What a class finish in his third goal.I want to see more goals like this.I want to see more goals.51 goals is not enough…

On being four points ahead of fourth place…

“It’s not enough because we have a four-point gap with Chelsea as well. I think it’s completely open. What is interesting this season is that, from Chelsea to Man City or even Liverpool, everybody could still be in there. It will be very interesting because every weekend you will wonder who will drop points.”

ActuallyArsenal is just six points ahead from money loaded Man. City and if we are not careful,we too could finish outside top four.So beware!!!

The League is just so unpredictable.Villa looked among the favorite for the title but two games later,it seems to be out of form and out of top four.

But Liverpool will really have to struggle to get into top four now with Villa,Tottenham and City wrestling for the top four.

Arsenal 3-0 Aston Villa

December 27th, 2009

Arsenal:Fabregas 65, 81 Diaby 90
A.Villa:-

ONE faboulous free kick,2 Fabregas goal and 3 fabolous points. That’s the summation of this game for Gunners.

But the first-half of the game did not suggest such quotes.Although Gunners took the driver seat, but Villa’s compact defense let us down.On the other hand,Villa’s striking force seemed blunt and our back four had little struggle to overcome that.

That situation ended in 65th minute when substitute Fabregas popped in a free-kick to make Gunners lead with 1-0.That goal opened up the game and the real battle has just begun.

Although so,Villa’s attack remained blunt and Gunner’s defenders surprisingly still had little struggle although they received more attacks from Villa.

Villa focused too much on attack and that brought disaster when Gunners counter-attacked on Villa’s left wing.Walcott’s pace brought something and that something was converted into 2-0 lead with a fine finish by Fabregas. That goal made Arsenal’s 3 points almost secure.

However,Fabregas started to limp after that goal and he was out again as a precaution.

A minute after 90th minute,Diaby nailed the Villa’s coffin when his strike made it’s way into the net. That goal summed a warning to title rivals that Gunners is still in the title race.

Highlights coming soon!!!!
