The Gunners are on the verge of a £15million swoop for the Russia ace.

But it remains to be seen whether they can complete their move for the Zenit St Petersburg forward before the transfer window slams shut on Monday.

Wenger said: “There is nothing new on Arshavin.

“The deal is maybe 90 per cent completed. However, the final 10 per cent of any deal can be the most difficult.

Hopefully we can sign Arshavin.But I believe the toughest part is about the wage of Arshavin.He’s currently earning £100,000 a week and I think we can only give a maximum £ 80,000 a week.If he really wanted to join us he should have no problem with it.But if he can’t,then he will wait for a better offer from other clubs.
