I’m not worried about Lehmann

August 23rd, 2007

Actually before I saw the England-Germany friendly match I really think that Lehmann has a serious problem in his goal-keeping since Arsenal keep conceded for every match.

But after watching the highlights of the game above,I think Tottenham should worry about their goalkeeper instead.

Here’s the highlights;

Lehmann was doing his job greatly, despite his failure to prevent Lampard to score England’s only goal at that game.I don’t think any goalkeeper can save the attack unless they were lucky.

Paul Robinson,England’s goalkeeper is poor goalkeeper in that game. His failure to drive away the ball from the field cost England a lost in their homeground(I think it was played in England).

I hope Lehmann would not commit any careless or silly mistake in the game against Man. City this weekend.Arsenal must stop Man. City straight wins and break their “clean sheet record”.

Premiership analysis

Here’s the current Premiership table;

17Aston Villa201112-11
18Birmingham301246-21
19Derby301227-51
20Bolton300338-50

Actually it’s still too early to predict who’s the best in EPL but let’s see the table above.

I start with Man. City, which I think, has the best start in Premiership so far.Beating “weaker” Man.U 1-0 at home,Man. City gets all the three points from each match, which mounting to 9 points so far.

Talking about Chelsea, who luckily drew with Reds because of penalty which should not be rewarded at that time holds the 2nd place with a match ahead of Gunners,Liverpool,Aston Villa,Hammers,Blackburn, and Newcastle.

Next is our team,Arsenal which is at the 7th place because of alphabet arrangement.I guess Arsenal has slight advantage over the team because Arsenal starts with “A”.

Teams that do not perform up to expectation is Man U,Tottenham and Bolton.Bolton is the worst performing team so far and filling the bottommost of the table.

Ok,I would like to comment of Mark Hughes remark that Arsenal complain too much about Blackburn.

I think we can only blame two things about this, the referees who allow too much physical gameor ourselves.I think we should blame ourselves,as refs are not allowed to be “blamed” most of the time.

I think Arsenal should know EPL is a violent game, and the refs allow that(unless it’s too serious) and this makes EPL matches is so exciting to talk about.Gallas even quoted that he’s ready for that “violence” and he wouldn’t let Gunners “kicked” by Blackburn,or other EPL teams.

But it doesn’t seem to be true.

I’m very disappointed with……..

August 20th, 2007

Of course I didn’t happy with the result.Actually I’m very frustrated at that time.

It’s already too bad to see Arsenal drop points,I accidentally screwed up my site, causing the site’s template to have to be reset to default and I have to make back all my settings I’ve done before.Fortunately my site is fully functional now.

Ok,back on the topic.Actually I’m disappointed with Arsenal’s performance in second-half.

Not because Gunners were conceded at that time, because I saw Arsenal changed their normal play to boring defending,or Arsenal failed to counter the Blackburn’s change of playing style.

When I saw Gunners were defending and Blackburn was attacking vigorously,I knew Arsenal could be conceded some time.Unless God blessed Gunners,Arsenal is not going to end well in that game.

I knew one of the factor why Arsenal dropped points in this game is because Jens Lehmann is not careful enough,or not precise enough to catch the ball properly. But even Lehmann could save that attack Blackburn’s determination will get them a equalizer.

Then after Blackburn equalized then I saw some improvement in our teams. We started to control the game again but it’s too late.

Arsenal started well, and ended well as well but they done badly between 50-75th minute of the game.I wish Arsenal scored that goal in 90+ minute so that Arsenal can maintain their play in that game.

That’s the problem with Arsenal,in fact in every team.

Blackburn vs. Arsenal preview

August 18th, 2007

I have something weird about the people’s view about this match.

Some people would think Arsenal will be physically beaten by Rovers, some think Arsenal is ready for the physical challenge by Blackburn.

Wenger think Arsenal is ready for Blackburn’s challenge.

But isn’t the opinion weird?I mean Blackburn should be ready for Gunners challenge, not the inverse.

Though Blackburn has a good record against Arsenal,Arsenal is still superior than Blackburn. After all,Arsenal is still considered one of the “Big Four” in EPL.Arsenal qualify for UCL atleast, far better than Blackburn which can only qualify for UEFA Cup.

So,Arsenal need not fear for Blackburn challenge.Blackburn should fear Arsenal instead.Giants does not fear something smaller than them.

Same goes to teams except the other “Big three”.Arsenal does not need to fear them.Just play your game properly and you could beat your opponent.

Arsenal have the strength to win

August 17th, 2007

Source:Reuters

Great quote from Wenger.I would like to quote some of his comment here

“But we are not worrying about that. We will worry about how we play not how they play.”

Great. That’s I want to hear from Wenger. We should worry how we play, before worrying how our opponents play.If we played greatly then we don’t have to worry how our enemy play, unless they play better than us.

“For me, at the top level, it is very important that we stay calm. The players must be focused and also relaxed. It is like golf.”

Yes,I agree too with his statement.I have repeated many times;we must stay calm, although the referee may not be fair to us.

The most recent example is Christiano Ronaldo, who was rewarded a red card because he committed a serious tackle to Portsmouth players.

In this case Ronaldo did not stay calm and the result,he gets suspension and the worse is his teammate Rooney is also injured and therefore,Red Devils are short of attacking players which is like Manchester United with its teeth replaced with a bad one.
