Almunia:I’m ready to quit Arsenal

August 31st, 2007

Source:ontheminute.com

I would like to quote some of his comments here;

“Two weeks ago I was thinking about leaving. It’s very frustrating when you have the role of the second goalkeeper, or you are the cup goalkeeper.

I understand his frustration.I think he does not like to warm the bench most of the time.He wants to play;he wants to be more “active” in the club.But Arsenal doesn’t want to give him the “activeness” .He can only active when the main goalkeeper,Jens Lehmann is injured,or can’t feature in the game.

“The teams interested in me are medium-sized but I would have been playing. So I thought I would be happier than I was here. Now, though, everything has changed.”

Then,although the teams he described above could be less famous than Arsenal,but the teams above can give him the “activeness”.He can be the main goalkeeper in every game,unlike now when he has to warm the bench for the most of the time.

It’s up to him whether he wants to leave Arsenal or not.I can’t blame him if he leaves Arsenal,because Arsenal can’t give him the thing he wants.

Arsenal fixture’s in UCL

August 30th, 2007

Well,this is the fixtures of Arsenal in UEFA CHampions League Group Stage.

Source:Arsenal.com

Arsenal will face the Sevilla/AEK Athens which I think is the toughest team we have to face in this group in the first game.

I would like to comment of Edelman’s thought of this draw.Source:Arsenal.com

“I think it is a very interesting draw. It is the first time in a long time we have been in a group where we have not played any of the clubs before. Obviously with Sevilla our hearts go out to Antonio Puerta and we send our condolences to the whole of the club. Clearly they are a force and have done very well in the Uefa Cup over recent years. We know Athens well, we have played there in recent times but we have never been to Bucharest before. So that will be a new experience. And as for Prague, we were there 10 days ago and played Sparta only yesterday. We know the Czech Republic very, very well indeed.

SO we have to fight with a team which we can’t know what’s the style of that team.That will be dangerous to us but again,with Arsenal superior passing and team-coordination I think Gunners can mange them well.

I think Fabregas and ROsicky will NOT HAPPY with this draw because ROsicky have to face another Czech club and Fabregas has a bad feeling about facing Sevilla in this group.It’s not because they are strong,it’s because he’s sad about the fact he has to face Spanish club.

THe death of Antonio Puerta even make Fabregas more sad.His goal against Sparta is dedicated for him.I hope there’s not anymore that feeling in the game.The fact that Antonio Puerta is dead is unchangeable and even you commit suicide you can’t get him alive again.

I send my condolences to Antonio Puerta’s family as well as his teammate.

I think you always look at the groups and think some are easier than others but when the games come around they all turn out to be tough.

Of course it’s tough.If not how they can play in UEFA Champions League.But of course we didn’t need to face teams like Lyon,CSKA Moskva etc.

I think Arsenal get a good draw in UCL group stage

August 30th, 2007

Arsenal is at Group H in UEFA Champions League Group Stage.

Arsenal is drawn together with Sevilla FC (ESP) / AEK Athens FC (GRE),FC Steaua Bucureşti (ROU),and SK Slavia Praha (CZE).

Personally I think Arsenal has a good draw compared to other teams like Chelsea and Liverpool.

What do you think about this draw?

Arsenal advance to UCL group stage handsomely

August 30th, 2007

Arsenal beat Sparta 3-0 at Emirates,making the aggregate is Arsenal 5-0 Sparta.

Here’s the highlight of the game;

Gooners didn’t need to wait long to see Gunners score after Rosicky came from behind to shoot the ball into Sparta’s net.Actually Rosicky always use this trick in other games,but it always goes wide.But not in this case.

Arsenal controlled the game overall,with some attacks from our opponent.But the presence of Fabregas changed the game.Just 8 minutes before the game ended,Fabregas used the same way as Rosicky’s first goal in the game,just Fabregas did not came from behind to score the goal.

Well,the two goals above is typical Arsenal’s goal,which is resulted from fluid passing in the team.I must credit the second goal to Rosicky,who successfully tricked the defenders and ran to penalty box and gave the ball to Fabregas to finish the attack with another goal.

Finally,Dudu scored for Arsenal for first time at 89th minute of the game.Nothing to say about this goal actually,Eduardo just raised his leg high enough to reflect the ball into the goal.But the Ade should be credited for this goal.

Stay tuned for the UEFA Champions League Group Stage draw which is just two hours only after this post.

Wenger is not going to bring in another players

August 29th, 2007

I’m shocked that Wenger rejected Adriano on a loan deal.

Source:Arsenal.com

I would like to quote some of his comments here;

“I’ve been offered Adriano on loan and I said no,” said the Arsenal manager. “We do not need him and it was an easy decision to make because we’re not out there to take a striker on loan.

Yes,we do not need any striker actually.In fact our team is flooded with strikers.I think we need better defenders and midfielder instead.About the “better”,I think only Wenger knows it whether Arsenal need it or not.We as fans don’t know our manager mind.Our thinking is not as deep as Wenger and sometimes we can’t understand why he takes some action which some people would think is stupid,mistake etc but at the end he brings Arsenal to one of the “Top Four” now.Arsenal’s glory as today is brought by Wenger.Even Emirates Stadium is brought by him.

“The agreement was for a loan. They wanted to give us a player but wanted one back in return. I won’t say who it was but I did not want to lose the player they wanted. I didn’t necessarily think Adriano would upset the balance of the squad but he has qualities we don’t need.

This is like a chess game.Inter Milan wanted to “exchange pieces” with us.Wenger refused to “exchange” because he don’t want any major change to the team.Again,he’s stating that Arsenal is flooded with strikers and we do not need any strikers at this moment.

Wenger should go ahead with his plan and did not need to hear any comments from others.
Arsenal fans will support you.

How do you think about this rejection?Let me know.
